Krystal Heinzen, Management Specialist

Krystal Heinzen is the newest member of the Western Kentucky University Training and Technical Assistance Services team. As a Management Specialist for T/TAS, she brings a varied professional background which provides her a strong base for working with Head Start programs in the Program, Design, and Management component. She holds a JD degree and a BA in Journalism with a minor in Spanish from Howard University in Washington DC. She is certified in mediation and is a Registered Parliamentarian. While attending the University, she worked as Editor of a Community newspaper produced by the school, as a producer on a school radio production which won a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism award and at FOX news on the local morning news show. After undergraduate, she became a corporate trainer for a major airline prior to obtaining her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law.
Krystal's work in journalism and in the legal field provides her with a strong background for working with Head Start programs and helping to further their mission. As a law student, she was also a Head Start parent. Therefore, her perspective is not only learned, but also personal. In utilizing her journalism and legal background, she brings a detailed and personable approach to assisting programs with deciphering and complying with Federal Regulations. Krystal also is a WKU team member of The National Center on Program Management and Fiscal Operations.
